Hi I'm Ainhoa
The main goal of my project is to find a new way to treat bladder cancer using RNA (ribonucleic acid) technology. We will use tiny machines called nanorobots to carry a special type of RNA, called siRNA, to cancer cells in the bladder. These nanorobots work by themselves, using enzymes to move, and are made of a material that the body can easily break down. The siRNA carried by these nanorobots will help reduce the activity of certain proteins in cancer cells, which could stop their growth or even make the immune system attack them. First, we will test in the lab to see if these nanorobots can deliver the siRNA to cancer cells. Then, we will test if this treatment can make cancer cells die and if it can activate the immune system to fight cancer. Finally, we will also evaluate if the treatment works in mice with bladder cancer. If successful, this project holds potential to help many people with bladder cancer in the future.
